Licensed Betting Sites in Serbia
Taking online bets in Serbia requires a licence issued under the Law on Games of Chance, supervised by the Games of Chance Administration — Uprava za igre na sreću, part of the Ministry of Finance. Every operator on this site holds one. Of our four checks it is the first, and the only one that takes a site off the list instead of placing it on one.
Checking an operator takes a minute
The Administration publishes the register of online licensees at uis.gov.rs. Two things have to match, not one: the company and the website address. A licence number with no company name behind it is not a checkable claim.
Why the brand is not what you search for
This is where most checks go wrong. The brand on the site and the company on the licence are two different names, and they rarely resemble each other. The licence behind Soccerbet reads PHUKET DOO; Oktagonbet is ALPHAPEX DOO, 1xBet's Serbian arm is SAFEPLAY DOO and Superbet is ACT 4 BET DOO. Searching the register for the brand alone returns nothing, and proves nothing: search the company, then confirm the licensed domain matches the one you are on.
That is why every review here prints the operator company as well as the brand.
What the operator had to do to get it
- A Serbian company: registered in Serbia, with its equipment and player data held in the country.
- Verification: players are adults and identified before they play, which is why a first withdrawal takes longer than the ones after it.
- Player protection: deposit limits and self-exclusion have to exist, and have to work on request.
- Honest advertising: a bonus offer has to carry its terms, which is why the rollover is printed rather than implied.
What it gets you when something goes wrong
With a licensed operator, a complaint does not end at the operator. Ask for it to be registered formally — that starts a deadline it has to answer within — and keep the reference. Where no answer arrives, or it misses the point, the Administration is next, and a licensed operator has to engage with it.
That escalation is the whole practical difference. Offshore, the last word belongs to the operator.
What a licence does not do
A licence improves no one's odds, insures no loss, and does not make one operator's prices better than the next. What it does is make the published terms the real ones, and give you a route when they are not honoured. Everything else on this site — payouts, rollover, the betting offer — is judged separately, among operators that already passed this one.
An unlicensed site is not the same product at a discount — it is a different arrangement: Serbian banks block payments to it, a balance held there carries no local protection and advertising it here is against the law. The register at uis.gov.rs settles the question in a minute.
The method for everything after that is in our guide to choosing. Betting is for adults only (18+).
